So, um, yeah, I know I haven't posted in forever. Long story short ... work, work and more work. But I've started a new(ish) job. Same field, human hours. I even have supper with my kids every day! This is a good thing, as they threatened to divorce me.

Seeing as work would no longer be providing me with the amount of stress I've become accustomed to ... I bought a house. It's 91 years old, and it's adorable. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms, garage, partially finished basement. And we love it. We move in April 30.

Here's a picture of the outside. Oh, about the snow? We've actually had about three times that much snow this year, but it keeps melting between storms. Thank god!

Wow, I can't believe I bought a house. Mostly because it means I have to start packing again. Argh!

PS - Five bedrooms means lots of room for visitors. Hint Hint [livejournal.com profile] aithine

Copper Cliff is great -- Mike and I love the town and its architecture! 1700 square feet is awesome -- and a garage for your car, I hope (since that's pretty much a necessity in Copper Cliff).

We used AMJ Campbell -- the fellows who moved us were absolutely, positively great but the company only sent a half-sized truck (all their bigs ones were out on long-distance moves) so that really mucked things up (if we'd had a bigger truck, we would have been able to move it all at once but this necessitated two trips and mucked about with closing on the old house).

However, if you're moving from a rental, that's less of a problem. And these guys were great at pulling things apart and putting them back together. And so easy-going while being very hard-working!

We've mostly gotten rid of all our boxes from moving but I still have three book boxes stashed in my office if you're needing any. When will you be taking possession?

Yes to the garage. It will even have room for the horse related stuff we seem to be accumulating.

Hmmm, Campbell seems to be the cheapest too. Good that you've had a good experience with them.

As for boxes, I'm just gonna start grabbing them from the liquor store and Tim Horton's to start. Might buy some from the movers too. We take possession April 30, so we've got a bit of time yet. (Yeah, right, it'll fly by, I know). But don't ditch those boxes just yet. :D

Don't worry, I'll hold onto whatever small-sized boxes suitable for book packing that I can find.

April 30 isn't too bad. The weather should be half-way decently warm by then, for instance! Having moved once in January, I don't recommend it.
