I offered to write porn in celebration of [livejournal.com profile] aithine's birthday. One of the requests was from [livejournal.com profile] tinnny. She asked for dog tag porn. What she got was, um, dog tag porn, with a bit of angst. Seems I can't just write uncomplicated porn. *sigh*

Hope you like it dear.

So, anyway, here there be porn.

I'm Puzzled

So, where did the idea come from that Rodney can't bluff or lie? This is totally accepted fanon, and people seem to imply that they got it from canon, but it puzzles me greatly.

Rodney has been working on top secret projects for at least six years that we know of. He implies in "Underground" that he's been doing so for even longer. (See the conversation with Ford about building a nuclear bomb for the grade six science fair that got him questioned by the CIA that lead to his first job). Clearly, he'd have to be secretive and able to bluff/lie to pull that off for so many years. And, in "48 Hours", how long does it take Carter to figure out that Rodney is the one who determined the arbitrary limit on how long a pattern can stay in a buffer before it degrades?

Then, on top of that, we have "The Storm/The Eye". This seems to be the episode that prompts the belief that Rodney can't bluff/lie because he caves to the whole 'tortured by the Genii' thing. Yet, as the storm surge approaches Atlantis, he convinces Kolya that the plan to power the shield with lightning won't work. ("In case you haven't noticed, I'm a very arrogant man, I think ALL my plans will work!") He is so convincing that Kolya decides to abandon Atlantis. This is not the work of a man who cannot lie.

Personally, I think Rodney CAN lie/bluff/dodge/etc; he simply chooses not to hide his feelings from those he is close to. (Yeah, yeah, I ended a sentence with a preposition. Bastard!) All those moments of reacting to certain doom in a certain way take place within the context of his team and the people on Atlantis whom he trusts. He is emotionally open to them (and to Carter) in such a way as to make it possible for him to express himself freely.

Now, do I think it is easy for Rodney to bluff or lie? Nope. I think it takes a lot of effort for him to hide things. But, he is a freaking genius, people. Give the man some credit for having the ability to dissemble.

In short, please stop making Rodney act like a child who is incapable of lying to his parents. Treat the man with the respect deserving of the greatest mind in two galaxies.

That is all.

I wrote this for the [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic darkness challenge, then promptly forgot to post it here. So, um, here it is. :)

Title: What He Will Not See

So, just a little something else I wrote.

It's actually all [livejournal.com profile] aithine's fault. She posted a rant about juvenile stories and behaviours, then she wrote the "crack!fic" to go with it. And somewhere in there, I said I'd write the song!fic to accompany it.

So, here you go, seriously tongue in cheek crackfic songfic little ficlet.

Here there be fic )

Okay, so I have been writing this damn story since I saw "Before I Sleep" in early June. But I could never get it finished, it just kept teasing me. Well, now it's done!

Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aithine for wonderful beta duties (as usual), including the need to go above and beyond in the quest to track down the rampaging capitalization. Also, thanks for hounding, I mean, gently persuading, me to finish the damn thing.

Anyway, here we go ...

Title: Five Conversations that Elizabeth Weir Never Had

Okay, so, there is blame to be spread here.

First, there was [livejournal.com profile] sdraevn with her request for porny little stories about what happened on that darn balcony. Then, there was [livejournal.com profile] coreopsis with her NOT porny ficlet. Then, there was a comment in her story about how it would be almost impossible to write a porny story for the balcony ... and while I agree in principle, my tired, whiny head said "Hmmm, wonder how I could make that work?"

Finally there was [livejournal.com profile] aithine as always, doing beta duty for the crazy, tired lady. Thanks hon!

So, there you go, a chain of evidence that leads to this somewhat dishevelled place. Enjoy.

Short, missing scene for Siege III. They don't belong to me, I wish they did. No droolworthy characters were seriously harmed in the making of this fic.

So, [livejournal.com profile] aithine had a bad day, and she asked for porn. So, I volunteered to write some. Then, she asked for story with her porn. *sigh*

Well, I wrote, and I cajoled the muses, and I wrote some more, then I let it sit on my hard drive for a couple of days ... and then I finally finished it! Yay me!

Here it is, porn for [livejournal.com profile] aithine. And I didn't even make her beta her own story. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blade_girl for the wonderful beta and title suggestion (even though I used mine). *vbg*

Found: One John Sheppard muse. This muse is very tenacious. He has been babbling in my ear since he wandered through that open door in my brain. I have fed him, and petted him, and still he won't shut up. If anyone has misplaced their Sheppard muse, feel free to take him back. I just came here to read, honest.

Needed: One beta reader for Stargate Atlantis fan fic. Having been beset by the aforementioned Sheppard muse for over a week now, I have decided to treat the affliction by writing. I know, I know, this will only make him comfortable and enjoin him to put his lovely boots up on the desk and stay awhile, but, ya know, he's sorta cute. And you never know, he just might invite Rodney over later.

So, I've been wondering, is it possible to be a fan of a television show you've never actually watched? Can you call yourself a fan based on reading fan fiction, commentary and transcripts of episodes? Because I think that's happened to me and Stargate Atlantis.

When the season began, I was not moved enough by the premise to order extra pay channels just to watch one show. Heck, I pay too much for tv I don't watch already. But then ... oh then ... I found some fan fic, and it was good. Then, I found some more. Then, I felt compelled to start reading spoilers and episode summaries. The rest, as they say, was history. Reading led to messageboards, messageboards led to fic lists and sites, one site led to the next, lurking soon followed.

Now, I find myself happily mired in a fandom for a show I have never watched, and I can only stir up a smidgeon of intellectual confusion at this. Heck, I'm at the point where I am likely as big a fan of Pegasus B as I am of the show. You know, the show I haven't seen?

Oh well, guess it's time for the next step ... writing my own Atlantis fic. Ah, the path of addiction.
